Biography
Emily Schwarting is a fourth year Communication Design student, focusing on graphic design at the University of North Texas. A while back, Emily discovered that typography and paper had the unexpected ability to inspire her. When she needs to take a step back and unravel, Emily seeks out the familiar hum of her sewing machine, and creates squishable, squeezable plushies. When making plushies becomes a bit too much, she loves to relax with friends and enjoy delicious strawberry banana smoothies. Emily readily admits that hand-drawn typography makes her go weak in the knees.

Communication objective
SmartCart is an interface that allows users to browse recipes quickly, while shopping. SmartCart then is able to sync smartphone grocery lists, even finding the quickest route around the grocery store. The user is able to discover additional meal options and recipes, based on purchased items. It also enables check out and paying for the items with ease.

Tools used
After pencil sketches, I created each screen separately in Adobe Illustrator. I imported these sketches into Adobe After Effects, to animate the interface.
